"Rose Poetry," 12 x 12
Welcome to my website. I update it frequently with new images -- just click the Recent Work link, or Archives to see more. I strive for spontaneity and truth in my painting - I also aim to keep things simple, yet strong. Robert Genn recently cited a great quote from Garrison Keillor, which, though meant for writers, sums up the painting adventure, and really resonated with me: "There's no mastery to be had. You love the attempt. You don't master a story any more than you master a river. You feel lucky to canoe down it."
I am now teaching workshops; see the link for dates and places. Also, good news: one of the 2 paintings of mine that were juried into Salon International Exhibit 2010 (Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, TX), was given an award of merit by Everett Raymond Kinstler, and that piece ("Basking") was also selected as part of the jury's top 60 in the show!
Fall painting trip to Italy, 2010, is full -- looking forward to Cortona in September.
Fall of 2011 will be Provence! Details soon to be posted at www.huffharrington.com. Also, I now am doing a BLOG, which I call "Musings on Painting," - Click Here to View My Blog.
